Hotel Description - Le Telfair Golf and Spa Resort, Mauritius
This five star luxury hotel will simply take your breath away... sumptuous, stylish and opulent with an impressive range of facilities and activities to tempt guests of all ages.
There's nothing understated about this resort which revels in its extravagant surroundings while successfully holding on to its elegant ambience. Located on the south-west coast of Mauritius, this luxurious enclave has been developed in the former sugar estate of Bel Ombre in the foothills of the Champagne Mountains.
Dining at Le Telfair Golf and Spa Resort
It was the former home of renowned Irish-born botanist Charles Telfair who settled on the island after serving with the British Navy and his former chateau now houses the Le Chateau de Bel Ombre restaurant. However, the hotel's main restaurant is Anabella's, with its show kitchen enabling guests to see their meals being prepared; while other dining spots are Gin'ja and Le Palmier.
Accommodation at Le Telfair Golf and Spa Resort
On arriving at Le Telfair, the huge reception area is a precursor to the grandeur that flows through the grounds with peaceful lily ponds and fountains flowing under an avenue of palms that lead to the large swimming pool and fine white sands of the beach beyond. The décor takes its inspiration from the grand colonial sugar estate mansions that were built across the island and the 158 rooms and suites are clustered together in villas dotted through the grounds.
Activities at Le Telfair Golf and Spa Resort
There is no shortage of facilities here, from the 18-hole championship golf course to the temple of pampering at the Six Senses spa and the impressive children's club with its own swimming pool complete with mini sun-loungers. The Cavendish Bar and Lounge is a haven for cigar aficionados while local bands provide gentle entertainment that enables guests to dance the nights away.
